Strike up the Band!

The De Soto 2003 Bicentennial Band in now forming, and ALL area adult instrumentalists are welcome.  The community band is scheduled to perform four "old fashioned" concerts in the gazebo at our own Walther Park here in De Soto.

Playing under the accomplished bandmaster, Joe D. Bean, the group will be performing marches published in the 1880's-1930's plus some JUST FOR FUN novelty songs.

"ALL BAND INSTRUMENTS ARE NEEDED," says Mr. Bean.  "We will start with some medium easy songs to get our "chops" back in shape, but all songs are very playable and just lots of fun."

All rehearsals will take place at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church , Rock Rd. in De Soto and will run from 7:30-9 p.m.

All performers are asked to wear black/dark pants/skirt, socks, shoes, and a white shirt/blouse for each concert.
